Bali is far bigger than the map suggests and the traffic is genuinely bad. Kuta to Ubud is 90 minutes, Ubud to the Nusa Penida boat another 90. Hire a driver by the day at ₹3,000–3,500 rather than per trip — booking each transfer separately is how a cheap Bali trip doubles.
